Live Interview with Paolo from the band Trivium conducted by Miranda Wilson (Aka Sidine). I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank Paolo from Trivium for sitting down with me and taking the time to answer a few questions, it was truly a pleasure to speak with him.

Miranda: How long have you guys been together?

Paolo: Well the band started in 1999, and we have been touring since 2004. I joined in 2004, and Corey joined 2003.

Miranda: How did the band come up with the name Trivium?

Paolo: I believe the original singer was in the band for a couple weeks brought it in, and after that was his only really contribution to the band was kind of giving it the name and it stuck since then. It's been good it's kind of a catchy name, it's easy to remember.

Miranda: So being with the band what is one of your most memorable shows that you have had.

Paolo: We've have had countless memorable shows but I think the top one for me is when we played Download in 2005, in the UK. That kind of set the bar for how incredible a show can be and how much one show can change your life, and it set the direction of where our career is going. It's been a a steady rise and it really kicked it off.

Miranda: Has there ever been a time when you've been taking a break that you are like" WOW this is what I do for a living!" I'm not a pizza delivery guy or a carpenter or anything.

Paolo: definitely I'm thankful all the time even when I'm doing it I don't need to have a break. But I guess when you're at home you really realize what you get to do cause you can see how life at home isn't moving at the same pace that your life is normally on tour. It's great there's ups and downs just like any job, but I would say the ups definitely out weight the downer moments, but it's been great for us and I've welcomed everything good and bad that's happened with us, because it's really built us as people, and a band, and has made us better live.

Miranda: How has the festival been treating you so far?

Paolo: This great this is how Ozfest should have been. We did Ozfest in 2005, but it was nowhere near this much comradery between the bands, the people that ran the festival were jerks, and this is how a festival is suppose to be it's suppose to be fun, it's about music, it's about bands, it's about the fans. People getting a great show, and it's running smoothly. Hopefully this festival can be this decades Ozfest. Because I think Ozfest started out and was awesome, but I think it kind of lost it's way abit towards the end and this one came in and just kind of took over.

Miranda: it can only get better year after year.

Paolo: yeah definitely, as long as it keeps the vibe, and keeps people having fun that's all that matters because this festival focuses on the bands coming together partying after. Each band gets to set up their own party during the tour, and everyone comes. There's booze, music, there's laughter, and bullshit and that's what this is about.

Miranda: having fun.

Paolo: and it makes this job, the way it's supposed to be about bands coming together and entertaining people. Not rivalries, not anything like that.

Miranda: Whats it like touring on a bus with other people?

Paolo: Um.. it can get alittle nasty sometimes, but where pretty clean people, and the clean people definitely try to contain the messier people. But we keep our bus pretty spotless as much as we can. But sometimes we rage and stuff gets messy upfront be we clean it right away. It's important, because like if your bus is dirty then you get sick easy.

Miranda: As far as in the music industry, who started you playing the bass?

Paolo: Just friends I wanted to play in a band with my friends. We wanted to play thing back home called the Italian festival at my school, that's what sparked my interest in wanting to play is just playing with my friends. As my musical taste changed so did my playing and then I obliviously became I guess what I am today.

Miranda: Final question, any message for the fans?

Paolo: Thank you for supporting us, on our headliner last year on the Slipknot tour and on Mayhem cause without our fans we would not be on these festivals. We would not be playing the slots we have so thanks!
