Five Finger Death Punch, Upcoming CD(s)
by Shane on May.14, 2013, under Articles, News
I’ve been a Knucklehead since I first heard Five Finger Death Punch on tour with KoRn, Droid, and Hellyeah in 2007. At that show, FFDP absolutely blew all of the other bands away with their talent. Every since them, I think I’ve seen them more than any other band. I even discovered other bands that I fell in love with once I saw them, like In This Moment.
Through the years, they replaced Darrell Roberts and Matt Snell, but still were able to keep the same sound and vibe that had always impressed the hell out of me. But lately two things really bothered me. First, the last time I saw them on the Tresspass America tour, their music and show was absolutely amazing, as always, but they seemed to rely heavily on big flashy LCD. And next, I found out that FDDP is putting out not one, but two albums this year (The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell volume 1 & 2). This was a huge red flag for me because I’ve seen other great bands like Metallica go down this route where it seems that the bands priority switches to money instead of their fans and the music.
The loss of another great, Jeff Hanneman
by Shane on May.03, 2013, under Articles, News
May 2nd was another harsh day for the world of metal, with the loss of another legend, Slayer’s Jeff Hanneman.
I can’t say that I’m the biggest Slayer fan on the web, but they are one of the metal bands that I always have had a huge respect for, not only because of their enormous talent, but the fact that they’ve continually given their fans what they want. Jeff’s skills with the guitar are legendary, and he will live on through his fan base and the enormous influence that he has had on the industry.

Sevendust, Lacuna Coil, and Avatar @ Marathon Music Works
by sidine on Feb.15, 2013, under Concerts, News, Reviews, Sevendust
On Feb. 10, 2013 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tn. the tour featuring Sevendust, Lacuna Coil, and Avatar came performed. This line up had a few firsts for me, those being seeing both Lacuna Coil and Avatar for the first time and attending a concert at the Marathon for the first time also.
Avatar is one of the most entertaining metal bands I have seen in a long time. The band did not need anything fancy on their stage because singer Johannes Eckerström was able to entertain the crowd with just his facial expressions alone. Each member on the stage was extremely talented and showed that they were just as eager to be there as the fans where. Avatar is more than just growling and heavy guitar riffs they had a classical flare to them as well that was shown in their performance of the song the “Black Waltz” from Avatar’s recent album also titled Black Waltz. After their performance Avatar met fans over at their merch booth to take photos, sign autographs, introduce themselves personally and thank fans for coming out to the show.
Shinedown, Three Days Grace, and POD – Bridgestone Arena Nashville, Tn. Feb. 08, 2013
by sidine on Feb.10, 2013, under Articles, Concerts, News, Reviews, Shinedown
On Feb 8, 2013 at Bridgestone Arena the concert tour featuring POD, Three Days Grace, and Shinedown rolled through Nashville, TN. this was a night for any fan to remember, but you can say that about any concert you attend for the most part. However this night seemed to encompass a couple of firsts for a lot of the fans that were at the concert. While waiting for the show to begin I spent my time speaking with fans around me to just kill the time and I learned that this was one young guys first concert, and another person I spoke this was her first rock concert and she was attending it with her boyfriend and his friends to see what it was like. I hope this was a show to remember for both of the fans I spoke with, and it sparks many more concerts to come for those individuals.

This tour was perfectly crafted from the band line up, the stage set up, the light, sound, and pyro nothing seemed to be out of place or hard to see for the floor area of the venue. It was nice to be able to see all the band members from the singers, guitar players, all the way to the drummers in the back. It was nice to be able to see them all in action. Each band seemed to have their own personality when it come to stage decor and pyro set ups. POD had very little cluttering their stage performance, Three Days Grace and Shinedown didn’t have much cluttering their performance area either and that allows the crowd to focus more on the songs and performance rather then seeing over a stand, or piece of stage decor. The pyro and gun shot blasts where nice touches to the songs performed by Three Days Grace and Shinedown which gave the songs that added flare. Overviews of the bands individual performances are listed below I tried to not include to many spoilers for those readers that are planning to attend the concert as it rolls through their town. Apart of the surprise is not knowing all the details before you have a chance to experience first hand.
