CATCH CHIMAIRA THIS SUMMER ON THE ROCKSTAR ENERGY MAYHEM FESTIVAL
Cleveland, Ohio’s CHIMAIRA are pleased to announce the July 20th, 2010 release of their highly-anticipated DVD/CD set, Coming Alive on Ferret Music. This unprecedented release includes a four-part documentary filmed over the course of a year and a half while the entire package includes over 7 hours of exclusive content. The DVD, filmed entirely in HD, showcases CHIMAIRA in the studio while recording the Billboard-charting, The Infection, and chronicles their recent, worldwide touring season. In summary, Coming Alive is an in-depth look into CHIMAIRA’s life and music in the studio and on the road.
Not only does the DVD set include this amazing documentary piece, another section, CHIMAIRA XMAS: Live Concert Film, celebrates the 10th annual CHIMAIRA Christmas show in Cleveland, Ohio, which took place on December 30th, 2009. 13 HD cameras capture CHIMAIRA releasing their fury for their hometown crowd on a dark and snowy night in December.
Bonus features on the DVD include a 45 minute Resurrection: ‘Making of’ documentary, a 40 minute home-video footage documentary of never before seen moments, and a live CD featuring 17 tracks recorded at CHIMAIRA’s December 30th Christmas show. The tracklisting is as follows:
1 The Venom Inside
2 Resurrection
3 Power Trip
4 Empire
5 The Disappearing Sun
6 Severed
7 Destroy and Dominate
8 Six
9 The Dehumanizing Process
10 Dead Inside
11 Painting The White To Grey
12 Nothing Remains
13 Salvation
14 Secrets Of The Dead
15 The Flame
16 Pure Hatred
17 Implements of Destruction (included on DVD only)
“Metallica’s A Year and a Half in the Life of…., and Live, Shit, Binge and Purge, were my bibles while growing up,” states guitarist Rob Arnold. “Watching the guys in the studio, out on the road, and backstage, taught me so much, and definitely played a major roll in shaping me into the musician I am today. After watching our new DVD set, Coming Alive, I sat back, ULTRA satisfied, and knew that this DVD would do the exact same thing for fans and musicians of today. The quality, the content, the humor, the realism, the insight, and the impact of this product, will definitely erupt onto the music community. Even the packaging is totally sick…. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of the first copies, and I KNOW that you’re going to love yours!”

GWAR RETURNS TO AMERICA FROM ANTARCTIC STRONGHOLD TO CONTINUE THEIR ASSAULT ON HUMANITY
TOUR WITH DIRGE WITHIN AND MOBILE DEATHCAMP BEGINS NEXT TUESDAY, JUNE 1ST
“Bassist Beefcake the Mighty arrived using more conventional transportation.”
ODERUS URUNGUS CALLS WEB PRESS CONFERENCE
ALSO SET TO APPEAR ON FOX NEWS “RED EYE” THIS FRIDAY NIGHT
Al-Jazeera today announced that renegade shock-rockers GWAR have recently and secretly returned to North America to begin the final preparations for a host of promo events and concert appearances in their continuing two-year long 25th Anniversary. After a lightening-quick four-month break spent in the band’s hulking south-pole fortress (“fighting penguins…” claimed GWAR front-thing ODERUS URUNGUS, “and working on a new album…”), the band reportedly made landfall late Wednesday evening, arriving in their signature bat-shaped helicopter at an undisclosed location.
In order to publicize their pressing agenda (and display the pressing of genitals), the band (GWAR) announced that on Friday, May 28th, at 10:00 p.m. E.S.T. ODERUS URUNGUS will hold an web-based press conference, which can be viewed at gwar.tv, where he is expected to mouth-off about the insignificance of humanity and make a long and complicated set of demands. Viewers will be able to ask Oderus questions through the chat room, and he might even answer some of them. You can also check out the press conference streaming at MetalBlade.tv!
After this debacle, “little trolls” will whisk Oderus away to the nearest real TV station, where the so-called “Interplanetary Correspondent” will be pumped into FOXNews late-night gab-fest, “Red Eye”, hosted by Greg “Gut” feld, for the 11th kneecap-splitting appearance! So be sure to catch Oderus on the web at 10 and on Red Eye that same night at 3:00 am, e.s.t.!
In other GWAR news, GWAR is set to hit the road for the second leg of their “Lust in Space” tour, including stops at the Skatopia and Bonnaroo festivals. Bonarroo will also have a special GWAR autograph session at the official signing location, where loyal fans can get their favorite GWAR stuff signed, or even have their names carved into their foreheads.
“It’s a little thing we intend to do to, I mean for, our fans…” explained GWAR guitarist Balsac, the Jaws of Death, “So when they take all those drugs at Bonnaroo they won’t forget who they are.”
After that there is no let up as GWAR devastates Europe not once but twice this summer, including gigs at the Bloodstock and With Full Force festivals. Then, with rumors of a new album dropping this fall, GWAR shall finish up 2010 with a completely new 25th Anniversary show, this fall in America! The beatings will continue until morale improves, as the hardest working band in show-biz continues to also be the HARDEST ROCKING!!!!! Hail GWAR!

Band Scores Second No.1 Hit From Their New Album “Life Starts Now”
New York, NY – Multi-platinum rock band Three Days Grace scores their second No.1 hit with “The Good Life.” The song claims the No. 1 spot on the Active Rock radio chart for the second week in a row and No. 5 on the Alternative Rock radio chart. The single follows the success of their previous No.1 hit, “Break” the lead single from their current effort Life Starts Now. “The Good Life” marks the seventh No. 1 song at Active Rock for the Toronto-based foursome comprised of Adam Gontier (vocals, guitar), Neil Sanderson (drums, piano), Brad Walst (bass), and Barry Stock (lead guitar).

Paul Gray, (04.08.72 – 05.24.10) We will miss you.
by Shane on May.24, 2010, under Band News, Newest, Slipknot, The-Voices.net
Paul Gray, the Bassist for Slipknot, was found dead today in Urbandale, IA. Right now it is unclear on how exactly he died, but if we find out I will post it as soon as I can.
This has been a real hard six months for the metal scene. In December, James “The Rev” Sullivan, the drummer of A7X died, earlier this month on May 16th, the legend Ronnia Dio died. And today, one of my all time favorite bass players from my all time favorite band, Slipknot, died.
I’m really at a loss for words on this. I, like many of Slipknot’s fans, had the great privilege of seeing them play live. The whole band, including Paul, put their everything that they have into every performance for their fans. Our condolences go out to all Paul’s family, friends, and fans.
We are going to miss you Paul, I can honestly say I don’t think the music industry will be the same without you.
