**SLIPKNOT’s HISTORIC HEADLINE SET TO BE TRANSMITTED LIVE FROM KNEBWORTH, JULY 10, 2011**

London, UK- Slipknot has announced a special real-time Webcast of their Knebworth performance via their website, Slipknot1.com to take place during their headline set at 9PM (GMT) on Sunday, July 10th.

The webcasting of SLIPKNOT’s historic Sunday night headline set live across the world from KNEBWORTH, will go out live on Slipknot1.com as well as Sonispherefestivals.com. Set to be an epic and emotional occasion, this highly anticipated show will mark the band’s first appearance in the UK in over two years and their first British performance without founding member Paul Gray, who tragically passed away last year.

The band said of the upcoming performance: “England has always been a special place for this band from the very beginning. We can’t think of a better way to culminate our celebration of Paul’s life than to share it with the Maggots at Knebworth and the millions more watching around the world.  This is not to be missed.”

Says festival producer Stuart Galbraith:

“This is the first time Sonisphere Festival has been transmitted live across the web and represents yet another major stride in its commitment to harnessing the power of the internet to engage with the rock audience at large across the planet. Given that this is going to be such an important event for Slipknot fans the world over, we felt it only right to allow them all to share in what is set to be a historic experience, wherever they are.”

Paul Gray, (04.08.72 – 05.24.10) We will miss you.

by Shane on May.24, 2010, under Band News, Newest, Slipknot, The-Voices.net

Paul Gray, Slipknot - Mayhem Fest 2008Paul Gray, the Bassist for Slipknot, was found dead today in Urbandale, IA. Right now it is unclear on how exactly he died, but if we find out I will post it as soon as I can.

This has been a real hard six months for the metal scene. In December, James “The Rev” Sullivan, the drummer of A7X died, earlier this month on May 16th, the legend Ronnia Dio died. And today, one of my all time favorite bass players from my all time favorite band, Slipknot, died.

I’m really at a loss for words on this. I, like many of Slipknot’s fans, had the great privilege of seeing them play live. The whole band, including Paul, put their everything that they have into every performance for their fans. Our condolences go out to all Paul’s family, friends, and fans.

We are going to miss you Paul, I can honestly say I don’t think the music industry will be the same without you.

ROB ZOMBIE AND JOEY JORDISON UNITE!

SLIPKNOT DRUMMER TO JOIN FORCES AND TOUR WITH ROB ZOMBIE THIS SPRING AND SUMMER

New York, NY:  SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison will spend the spring and summer of 2010 pounding the skins for new labelmate Rob Zombie, who is embarking on a very busy touring schedule.

Zombie said, “Joey is an absolutely crushing drummer and I am thrilled to have him as part of the Zombie family. His amazing skills promise to take the live show to a whole new level of insanity.” Jordison also commented, saying, “I am honored, proud and excited to announce that I have joined the ranks as the new touring drummer for Rob Zombie. I’ve been a fan of Zombie’s since the beginning. I’ve toured with them and have always wanted to play for them.  When John 5 called me up to ask if I knew any drummers I could recommend,  I said, only half-jokingly, ‘Yeah, me!”

Jordison is universally recognized as not only one of the best drummers in hard rock, but as one of the most talented skinsmen in music, period. He will be sitting behind the kit for several appearances and tours throughout the year, namely the “Gruesome Twosome” tour, which features Zombie along with his longtime pal, Alice Cooper, which begins April 26 in Canada and runs through May 5 in Wyoming. Following that historic tour, Jordison will tour alongside Zombie as part of the 2010 Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which Zombie is co-headlining with Korn. That tour kicks off July 10 in Southern California and runs through August 14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

“This show and set-list is mind blowing, and what better way to kick off than with the ‘Gruesome Twosome’ tour with horror-rock legend Alice Cooper,” Jordison said. “I want to thank all the Slipknot fans for their support and the Rob Zombie fans for welcoming me in. The Demonoid Phenomenon is on its way!”

Jordison will make his debut with Zombie at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held on April 8, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Zombie will be closing out the evening’s awards ceremony with what is sure to be a “must see” performance.
