Mayhem Fest Kicks off this Weekend w/DJ StarScream
by Shane on Jun.30, 2012, under Articles
Just a quick update on Mayhem Fest this year. It looks like DJ Starscream (aka #0, aka Sid Wilson) will once again be DJing between sets on the side stages again this year.
He did it in ’08 and I loved watching it, especially when they had Metal Melusha <sic> doing their stunts over the booth he was DJing from. Hopefully we’ll get a good show from them again (not sure if they will be there or not this year). And lets all hope that this tour, Sid doesn’t break his ankles again and the band can all finish this tour healthy, because its looking like this summer is going to be hot as Hell.
We will be covering the Atlanta show, hopefully we’ll see you there.

What’s the story behind you Alex Kelly?
Well, I was born and then a bunch of stuff happened and now I’m here. It’s pretty rad here, wherever “here” is?
If I twisted your arm and you agreed to pigeon hole yourselves to one genre, which one would it be?

June 2012 – Artist Spotlight – Five Finger Death Punch
by Shane on Jun.10, 2012, under Articles
I wanted to make the first artist spotlight extra special, and I’ve spent weeks trying to figure out what band that I wanted to cover. I thought about the bands that I love, like Hatebreed, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, In This Moment, and many more. I thought about bands that I used to love but have fallen from grace in my eyes, like Guns n Roses, Metallica, and Marilyn Manson. I even thought about a local band that I really liked a lot, Silent Horror. Even though they broke up years ago, before they even had a chance to get popular, I still listen to their music on my iPod. Then I thought that I might just do a particular artist that has had a lot of influence on the industry as a whole like Dave Lombardo or Lars Ulrich. Or even an artist that has played with many bands such as Joey Jordison, Corey Taylor, or Wednesday 13.
But I decided that my first artist spotlight will be a band that I’ve had a lot of firsts with, Five Finger Death Punch. They were the first band I got good pictures of and started my love of photography, they were at our first major show that we photographed for the website, and they were our first major interview, back in 2008 at Mayhem Fest.
Artist Spotlight
by Shane on Jun.05, 2012, under News
I’m finally getting around to doing a project that I’ve been trying to get together for a while now, spotlighting a musician or a band every month.
I should have our first spotlight up this weekend, and will try to have it up the first week of every month for now on. The name of it may change from Artist Spotlight, but its time that we start not only telling what bands we love, but also why we love those bands.
Stay tuned, and if it turns out to be popular then we may do more than one a month. If you know any bands, no matter how small, that are amazing and deserve recognition for what they do every day for their fans, then email me and I will look at it.

Five Finger Death Punch supporting Suicide Prevention
by Shane on Jun.05, 2012, under Articles, News
Zoltan Bathory said, “Through support and awareness, suicide can be prevented. Five Finger Death Punch is promoting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to build awareness that there is support out there for those in need through the Lifeline’s service, and others. This is an important initiative we have taken on to place it on the consciousness of the public that you are not alone when in need.” Dr. John Draper, Director of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline offers, ” By sharing the message with their fans that suicide is preventable, the members of Five Finger Death Punch will undoubtedly save lives. We are thrilled that they are helping get the word out about this valuable 24/7 service.” The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is administered by Link2Health Solutions Inc., a wholly owned affiliate of the Mental Health Association of New York City.
