Miranda: How long has Bullet For My Valentine been together?

Moose: Playing together me and Matt since 1996.

Miranda: Where you guys actually band in 1996, or where you forming it at the time?

Moose: Yeah, me and Matt started the band in ’96, a couple of lineup changes. But we’ve been Bullet For My Valentine since 2004.

Bullet for my Valentine

Miranda: How did you guys come up with the band name Bullet For My Valentine?

Moose: Well, we went to the pub, or the bar (laughs). I was writing down names and there was bullet and violence was on the list. So we said “okay, violent on valentines”, and there was violence for my valentine. We thought yeah that’s good but it’s a bit to nasty so then there’s bullet, so I said “Bullet For My Valentine” and everyone was like yeah.

Miranda: So that’s how it came about.

Miranda: Is there much difference between your fans in the U.S. then they are in the Europe?

Moose: no, not really. The kids that come to a Bullet show is can be in Australia or in Japan it all pretty much the same.

Miranda: How came up with the idea of putting the album “Scream Aim Fire” on a Bullet thumb drive?

Moose: Um, Our record company.

Miranda: It was a good idea.

Miranda: What can people expect from a new album from you guys?

Moose: This album is more like the first one was, It’s more classic rock. If I think about it, it’s not as fast as “Scream Aim Fire” was but it’s more towards the “Poison”. I think it’s the best stuff we’ve done so far.

Miranda: Okay, well how is the festival treating you guys?

Moose: It’s amazing, we’ve made some new friends, and some old friends. The crowds have been really good every show. Obliviously we’ve been a little worried playing before Slayer, but we’ve been accepted very well.

Miranda: out of all the bands that you have toured with, what was the most memorable band?

Moose: Um, Metallica.

Miranda: Did you guys start out playing Metallica and Nirvana covers.

Moose: Yes

Miranda: that must have been like an influence. I was like meeting someone that you liked very much

Moose: Yes very, Surreal time for me and Matt, we were just looking at each other. Like 10 minutes before we were due to play, and there was a knock on our door, I opened the door and there’s Lars Ulrich, I was like “Oh my god!”Bullet for my Valentine

Miranda: So did he influence you with your drumming?

Moose: Yeah very much, He’s really good, also Dave Lombardo from Slayer influenced me a lot too.

Miranda: Being from Wales, Has spending a lot of time in the States Americanized you guys?

Moose: I don’t think it has. It’s a great country you got, and we love coming here it’s one of our favorite countries to tour. But we always like to go back home.

Miranda: that is where your heart is. That’s where your family and friends are.

Moose: yeah

Miranda: Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Moose: Yeah, come to the shows, and buy our new album.

Miranda: When is the new album coming out?

Moose: early next year
